ABOUT US Micron Optics, Inc., is an established leader of innovative optical components and laser-based equipment that advance the quality of optical measurements, allowing the Sensing, Imaging and Telecommunications industries to make the critical measurements they need. The Micron Optics comprehensive product portfolio of tunable optical filters, swept lasers, optical sensors and sensing interrogators delivers the highest degree of measurement precision, resolution, and accuracy required for customers to yield superior, advanced solutions.
Micron Optics' core, seminal technology – the Fiber Fabry-Perot tunable filter – was instrumental in the development of dense WDM fiber optic communication systems. Since then, the company has developed many complementary technologies and products originating from its tunable filter technologies. Today, Micron Optics is focused on advancing the quality of optical measurements in the fields of optical sensing and interferometric imaging through superior tunable optical components and swept wavelength lasers.
Micron Optics' founder, Calvin M. Miller, was the true father of the Micron Optics family. Cal was responsible for the core development of the Fiber Fabry-Perot technology, for handpicking the company's management and engineering teams and for initiating the spirit and unity that binds the employees of Micron Optics as a family. He passed away in 2002, but his spirit lives on through Micron Optics' technology and the teams he put in place. Micron Optics is continuing Cal's vision of providing "simply elegant solutions" with "killer" performance, and strives to build strong, lasting, and enjoyable relationships with its customers and employees.
